1. Dr. Soetomo (Front), Ngarai Sianok/Sianok Canyon, West Sumatera (Back). 1980.

SoetomoDr. Soetomo (born in Ngepeh, Loceret, Nganjuk, East Java, July 30, 1888 - died in Surabaya, East Java, May 30th, 1938 at age 49 years) is the founders of Budi Utomo, the first movement of organizations in Indonesia.

In 1903, Soetomo was educated at the School of medicine tot Opleiding Inlandsche van Artsen, Batavia. Together with his colleagues from this STOVIA Soetomo establish associations named Budi Utomo, in 1908. After graduating in 1911, he worked as a government doctor in the various regions in Java and Sumatra. In 1917, Soetomo married to a Dutch nurse. In 1919 to 1923, Soetomo went on to study medicine in the Netherlands.

In 1924, founded the Indonesian Study Club Soetomo (in Dutch Indonesische Study Club or Group Study Indonesia) in Surabaya, in 1930 founded the National Party of Indonesia and in 1935 founded the Parindra Party (Indonesia Raya).

 



2. King Sisingamangaraja XII (Front), Yogyakarta Palace (Back)

King Sisingamangaraja XII (Bangkara, Tapanuli, 1849 - Simsim, Tano Batak, June 17, 1907); title Ompu Pulo Batu was a ruler in the area Tapanuli, North Sumatra in the late 19th century. He died on June 17, 1907 while defending themselves from attack Dutch troops. His grave was in Soposurung, Balige after being removed from Tarutung. Sisingamangaraja name derived from Sanskrit which means lion and mangaraja (emperor).
