Teuku Umar (Meulaboh, 1854 - Meulaboh, February 11, 1899) is the hero of the independence of Indonesia who struggling with how to pretend to cooperate with the Dutch. Against the Netherlands when he was collecting weapons and enough money. He died when Dutch troops launched an offensive to him in Meulaboh. His body was buried in the village mugo, Meulaboh.
When war erupted in 1873 Aceh participated Teuku Umar fought alongside other fighters in Aceh, and he's still stepping 19 years. At first he struggled in his own village who then proceed to the West Aceh.
At this young age, Teuku Umar was appointed as keuchik (village head) in the Meulaboh area.
Teuku Umar personality known since childhood as the son of an intelligent, brave, and sometimes quarrelsome with peers. It also has properties of a hard and unyielding in the face of all the problems. Teuku Umar was never assigned the formal education.
Nevertheless, he was able to become a strong leader, intelligent, and courageous.
At age 20, married with Nyak Teuku Umar Sofiah, children uleebalang Glumpang. To increase the degree itself, Teuku Umar then got married again with Nyak Malighai, daughter of Commander Sagi Mukim XXV. Since then, he began using the title of Justin. In 1880, married the widow of Umar Teuku Cut Nyak Dien, daughter of his uncle (his husband Cut Dien, namely Justin Lamnga Ibrahim died in June 1878 in the war against the Dutch in the GLE Tarun).
Both were later fought alongside the launch attacks against the Dutch outposts in Krueng.

Sudden attack into the area causing Melaboh Teuku Umar was shot and killed in the battlefield, which is in Kampung mugo, inland Meulaboh on February 10, 1899.
Above dedication and fighting spirit of struggle and sacrifice against the Dutch colonialists, Teuku Umar was awarded the title of National Hero. Name Teuku Umar also immortalized as the name of the street in some parts of the country, besides, his name is also immortalized as the name of a field in Meulaboh, West Aceh.



3. Sasando Musical Instrument, Rote Island, Nusa Tenggara Timur (Front). Kelimutu Lake, Flores (Back). 1992.


Sasando is a stringed musical instrument. This musical instrument comes from the island of Rote, East Nusa Tenggara. Literally Sasando according to the origin of the name he said in Rote, sasandu, which means a tool that vibrates or rings. It is said sasando use among community Rote since the 7th century. There is similarity in shape sasando other stringed instruments like guitar, violin and harp.
